X2 Recruit are looking for a Clerical Assistant to provide clerical support to Transactional Services within a council office.

 

Principal responsibilities:

  • To have a working knowledge of current Housing Benefit/Council Tax/ Council Tax Reduction Scheme/ Free School Meals and Adult Social Care Charging regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Using the Document Imaging system to scan and index documents.
  • To deal with letters, correspondence and valuables received in the Transactional Services teams. 
  • To deal with queries raised by the public on the telephone as required.
  • To liaise with Adult Social Care, Jobcentre plus and the Pension Service on individual cases.
  • To liaise with the other teams in Transactional Services where necessary.
  • To provide efficient and effective clerical support to enable Transactional Services applications to be assessed and calculated and claimants notified of the outcome, and for the purpose of Council Tax billing.
  • To process routine changes of circumstances in specific types of claims.
  • Provide clerical support, efficiently and effectively across the whole Transactional Services functions as required.
  • To input data into computer systems.
